Tank Weighing System
Direct, dependable inventory and process measurement using load cells installed beneath tanks, silos, hoppers and vessels.
A tank weighing system measures the total force carried by the vessel supports and converts it into an accurate material weight. Because measurement is independent of density, foam, vapour and tank geometry, it is well suited to inventory monitoring, filling, discharge control and loss detection.
System Components
- Industrial compression, shear-beam or tension load cells
- Purpose-designed mounting assemblies with lift-off and side-load protection
- Junction box for load-cell signal summing and corner correction
- Digital weight indicator or controller with configurable display
- PLC, DCS or SCADA integration through analog or digital communication
- Optional alarms, relays, remote display and data logging
Applications
Typical Configuration
| Measurement Principle | Load-cell-based gravimetric weighing |
| Vessel Types | Tanks, silos, hoppers and process vessels |
| Number of Supports | Normally 3 or 4; engineered to suit vessel |
| Display | Local digital weight indicator / controller |
| Outputs | Analog, relay or industrial communication options |
| Construction | Selected for indoor, outdoor or washdown service |
| Calibration | Test-weight, material or electronic calibration |
| Integration | PLC / DCS / SCADA compatible |
Capacity, support structure, piping forces, wind/seismic loads and required accuracy are reviewed before load cells and mounting hardware are selected.

Request a QuoteWhy Weigh the Entire Tank?
Material Independent
Measures mass directly, even when density, aeration, foam or dielectric properties change.
No Product Contact
Sensors remain outside the vessel, helping with corrosive, hygienic or difficult materials.
Process Ready
Weight values can drive alarms, dosing, filling, discharge and production reporting.
