LGM Level Gauge – Magnetic (Side / Top Mounted)
Safe visual level indication for hazardous, toxic and high-pressure applications where glass gauges are not permitted.
LGM Magnetic type level gauges are commonly used for visual level indication of liquids which attack glass or are hazardous, flammable, toxic, aggressive, agitated or contaminated, and under high pressure & temperature — for service where glass gauges are unsafe. The metallic chamber provides enhanced protection while the magnetic float drives either a follower capsule indicator or bicolour rotating flappers for clear level display.
Key Features
- Enhanced protection due to metallic chamber — no glass contact with liquid
- Suitable for atmospheric & pressurized conditions
- Better reliability at high temperature & pressure
- Clear visibility of level for longer duration
- Bicolour rotating flappers or follower capsule indicator
- Easy to set contacts at different desired levels (optional reed/micro switches)
- Optional 4–20 mA transmitter output

How the LGM magnetic gauge is applied in the field — and which build and accessories to choose for your service.
Hazardous & Flammable Liquids
Sealed metallic chamber with magnetic indication — no glass in contact with the media — safe for solvents and fuels where sight glasses are not permitted.
High-Pressure Boilers & Steam Drums
The metallic chamber is rated up to 100 bar and 400°C for demanding steam and high-pressure service.
Toxic & Aggressive Chemicals
Choose SS316 or PP wetted parts so only corrosion-resistant surfaces touch the liquid — the flappers and capsule stay isolated outside the chamber.
Top-Access Only & Underground Tanks
Where only the top of the tank is reachable, the top-mounted version reads level from a single top connection.
High / Low Level Alarms
Add reed or micro switches along the rail to trigger pump start/stop, overfill or dry-run alarms at any set point.
Remote Monitoring (PLC / SCADA)
Add a 4–20 mA transmitter to send the level to your control system for data logging and remote display.
Choosing the right build: Side-mounted suits liquids with specific gravity ≥ 0.5; top-mounted needs SG ≥ 0.7. Bicolour rotating flappers read up to 6 m, follower capsule up to 3 m. Add reed/micro switches for alarms, or a 4–20 mA transmitter for remote monitoring.
